Charles Baily - Chairperson
A classicist by origin, Charles spent 25 years
teaching, mostly Classics and English, followed by
fifteen years in software development. Now in
semi-retirement, his interests, apart from
politics, lie mostly in the past – art, history,
prehistory, archaeology and
theology.
David Brittain - Press and Media
Secretary
David's professional background is mainly in middle
management, and training, but is
now retired. These days he is a celebrant for
the BHA, and has joined the BHA's panel of local
representatives, which is a government-backed
scheme to include secular viewpoints in local
authority decisions where only religious interests
have been accounted for so far. He has a wide
range of interests, particularly in the sciences
and current affairs.
Treasurer and Membership Secretary - Kim
Northwood
“Kim lives in Wilstead, Bedfordshire. He works as a
software engineer with a multinational computer
company. A lifelong atheist, he believes that
Humanists and other non-religious people need to be
more assertive and willing to put their case to the
public, otherwise they risk being marginalised by
more vocal philosophies. His interests include
walking, cycling, travelling and rebuilding a Welsh
narrow gauge steam railway.”
